Houghton Lake 5/14/2014

Houghton Lake was on fire!  We caught an estimate of 150 fish.  Water temps started at 57 and ended up near 61.  Fished mostly northern side of the lake.  Kept 8 legal walleyes, a couple northerns, and about 40 crappies (10-14").  Release roughly 60 bass (biggest largemouth at 5lbs and biggest smallmouth at 4lbs).  Also released another 30 crappies.  It was wild as there was rarely a moment when someone in the boat wasn't fighting a fish.  Most of the fish caught on plastics (sliders, flukes).  Rippin Raps were hot bait for bass and crappies.
