July 2, 5, and 6

We fished with our good friends, Neil and Ryan, and the fishing has still been pretty consistent.  We caught good numbers of nice smallies in 30-40 fow.  All fish were caught drop shot rigging with the best plastics still Trigger X probe worms (baby bass and bluegill colors).  We typically are using 3/16 oz tungsten weights.

Water Temp anywhere from 72-75 degrees.  We are seeing more and more mayfly activity.  Still marking fish on the bottom and those are the ones that we're getting to bite, although we have caught some fish suspended.  I'm really encouraged by the level of fish activity.  Back in Michigan when we have Mayflies beginning to hatch, fishing becomes really difficult.  That hasn't been the case here.
