Weather and Walleyes

Week started off at 53 with rain. Saw 82 with sun. Ended up 44 with wind. Water temp went from 58 to 60 down to 55.

But the fishing still rocked. Caught lots of walleyes - had to move around a little more than normal for this time of year. Thought plastics were a little more effective than cranks. Found lots of awesome perch and smallies to go along with the ‘eyes. Biggest perch were 12.5” and biggest smallie was 20.5”. All in all, a great week on the water.

What would I have done differently? I think I would have tried fishing deeper water more than I did. I found lots of fish in 16-20’ the first couple of days, but I didn’t try those depths in other places on the lake. When fish are scattered like they were this week, you find them all over the place. Next year, I want to make sure I try off the edge more.
