CRUSHING Big Crappies and Gills on Rapala Ultralight Minnow Cranks!

We’ve written about how good these little cranks work on these aggressive panfish! Now you can see things in action on this video we shot a couple of weeks ago!

A couple details I wish I had included in the video:

  1. You want to adjust the speed of your twitch bait to the mood of the fish. Yesterday we were pulling it a lot slower - with smaller movements overall.

  2. A lot of time I’m trying to get the bait down just above the weeds. When you start to touch weeds you know that you’re in the strike zone.

  3. When you find one fish, usually there are more nearby. Sit on them for a bit.

  4. Be selective with what you keep. Big gills are a precious resource. Let the big ones go, keep the smaller ones. Try only keeping enough for a meal instead of thinking about stocking your freezer.

We fished yesterday and pounded fish - releasing most of them, but keeping enough for a meal! You have got to give this a try! Comment if I can help you dial things in more!
