Saginaw River Fishing Report 12/22

Fishing was interesting today on the river.  Water temps hovered right around 38 degrees.  Water clarity was still good, despite rain yesterday.  Fished straight plastics and blades.  Didn't do any good casting to start the day off.  Only success was on vertical jigging plastics.  Moved spots and ended up learning an entire new area and found a much stronger bite.  Caught a bunch of nice fish casting jigs.  Best presentation was an Old Fart Walleye Sweetheart jighead (1/4oz) matched with a blue ice/chart tail Charlie Brewer slider.  Between 4 guys, we ended up with 23 legal fish.  Big fish was around 20".  Caught all kinds of junk fish - cats, sheephead, white bass.  Also caught smallies and a northern.  Overall had a blast on the river!
