Houghton Lake 5/21

Had a chance to take out Gary, a good friend whose son is in my church.  Started the day out thinking the fish were really going to be biting and we struggled early.  Caught 10 shorts right off the bat but couldn't find a legal.  Caught a bunch of pike, finally got a legal, and then we made a move that proved to be the move of the day! Found a pod of fish and plucked 11 legals and most of them were good fish 17-18" range.  Most fish caught on plastics.  Found a little pod of crappies too.  Ended up with one northern close to 30". Caught a bunch of largemouth too - biggest closest to 5lbs (not pictured).  Micah was the hot hand.  Switched to a crank and slaughtered the fish.  Had one huge northern woof a bait that we'll never see again. Wind was huffing - 15-20 out of the SW.  Water temp ended up near 60 by the end of the day.  We took a pounding but had a blast!
