Family Fun and Goliath Panfish - Houghton Lake

We've talked about how Houghton Lake is a fish factory before - and that's not just for walleyes. The panfish are scary big on this 22,000 acre lake.  Water temps are hovering around 60 degrees.  The bluegills and crappies are going crazy.  I had the kids out yesterday and we caught a combination of panfish on Charlie Brewer slider grubs (1.5") and Rapala ultralight cranks.  Didn't really fish walleyes much - but caught a ton of shorts (15-20 twinkies - great recruitment for the future!).  Kids also went for a swim!
