Lake Leelanau Fishing

Had the chance to take Jason out on Leelanau. As predicted it was an early morning bite. Our best fishing was the first hours of the sunrise (we witnessed one of the best I've seen - check out the unedited pic). We caught 7 eyes and lost one (5 legals) all on Charlie Brewer Sliders, a couple smallies and rock bass. We felt really good with what we caught given the time of the season (not a whole lot of other people catching fish like we did). The bite is really lite still and I was very surprised to not catch a fish on our slip bobbers and leeches which were out most of the day. The fish we kept ALL had crayfish in their belly's! These fish have access to a lot of food this time of year. It was really cool to be there to watch Jason catch his first walleye which was the biggest legal of the day!
