Skeeter SX2250: Best Fishing Platform in the World

I am a week into using my new Skeeter SX2250 and I am super impressed. This is a saltwater bay boat by design, but the freshwater applications are incredible…

I started this blog back in May and I’m picking the ball back up now in mid November with 120 hours of experience with this incredible fishing machine. Here’s the highlight film for this boat:

  1. Yamaha 250 SHO: Need I say more? Super powerful, quiet, fuel efficient, reliable, easy to maintain…absolutely love it! One of my key deciding factors in going with Skeeter was the Yamaha connection!

  2. All fiberglass: With all the people we host in our boat, I am done with carpeting. I took great care of the carpeting in my old boat, but it was still impossible to get that thing to smell good. The fiberglass is easy to take care of and cleans up quick and easily.

  3. One of my favorite accessories - Wash Down System. After every trip, I could easily wash the deck down with this add on feature and within minutes the boat was clean and ready to go for the next trip. Clients would comment regularly that the boat looked like it was just off the showroom. Definitely a huge plus!

  4. Tons of storage. I was concerned that I would be losing storage switching to a new boat, when in reality I have tons of space. I can essentially put everything I own in this boat and still have room.

  5. Skeeter Custom Trailer. When you spend a lot of time trailering, you depend on things working right. This trailer is built right from start to finish. Hubs come with a 10 year guarantee. Love the rear back up lights.

  6. Rod holders. There are eight rod holders on the center console and a ton behind the seat - and I love having several rods that are ready to throw in holders ready to grab and fish with.

  7. Front and Rear Livewell. Technically, the front livewell is a baitwell, but you could easily put a bunch of panfish and several walleyes in it. The rear livewell is amazing - tons of space.

  8. Crazy smooth ride. I haven’t even mentioned anything about the ride, but this thing is so comfortable! The litmus test is my wife and she has commented time and again about how comfortable this boat rides. It gets up on plane really quick, even with 6 or more adults. And again the boat just is a joy to be in day in and day out.

  9. Favorite add-on: My splurge was getting the front deck cushions that sit around the bow. They include two backrests and turn this fishing boat into a true family pleasure boat. Definitely a hit with my wife.

There you have it - it wasn’t difficult to write about how much I enjoy this boat because it’s the truth. I am sold on the Skeeter SX2250 for an inland fishing boat for Michigan, New York, and beyond. For more information, check out www.skeeterboats.com.
