Beating a tough walleye bite
What do you do when everyone around you is complaining about how tough the bite is for walleyes? You go fishing! And you learn that one every body of water, at all times, someone has figured them out.
The last couple weeks (tail end of the mayfly season in northern MI), the walleye bite has been very good. We have caught a lot of fish. However, they aren’t biting everything we’re throwing. We haven’t done that good on plastics or leeches on a slip bobber. But we have been able to get the fish to react to other types of presentations.
So as fishermen, we’re always learning. We are always taking in information from what’s going on while we’re on the water and assessing and making decisions.
My point is just this: if the fish are there, you can find a way to catch them. Location is always the key. But if they are there, you can coax them into biting. If you want more information or want a hands on learning experience, consider booking a trip and learning first hand how to catch walleyes during tough conditions!
