My Favorite Jighead: Keitech Tungsten

My son-in-law with a beautiful walleye caught on a 1/8 oz Keitech Tungsten Super Round Jig Head.

Hands down, the best round ball head on the market is the Keitech tungsten super round jig heads. Tungsten has grown in popularity over the past years because it is smaller in size due to the density of the metal. So if you compare a lead jig with a tungsten of the same weight, the tungsten is smaller in size. Think of the benefits of that - less for the fish to see and yet tungsten also shows up better on FFS (forward facing sonar). Because the tungsten is denser than lead, it shows up better on my Livescope - huge to all the benefits of fishing FFS.

With all that said, Keitech makes the best tungsten jig head for the money. You won’t find a comparable product on the market. I have lots of favorites with this product. My top _ are below:

My Keitech Super Roundball Jig head favs:

  1. 1/8 - possibly my favorite size overall for walleyes. I like to go as light as possible as slower fall rates generally have produced serious results for me.

  2. 1/4 - great overall fish catching size. Works well for all fisherman, but especially those who are trying to get a little more dialed in on casting and snapping plastics.

  3. 3/16 - an amazing middle of the road size. Love the options Keitech offers as there are few who offer a 3/16 option.

  4. 1/16 and 3/32 - these are a secret that I don’t share with many people. I use a 1/16 on all my slip bobber presentations (I will occasionally paint the heads with nail polish). I use a 3/32 when I’m throwing 1.5” Charlie Brewer Slider Grubs for both giant panfish and walleyes.

Huge Savings ALERT!!!! - if you go to keitechfishingusa.com and use TESTA20, you will get 20% off your entire order!!! That’s crazy. They’re a great company with a great product - now is the time to get stocked up for the spring bite (can’t wait til next week!!!). Hope this helps you be more successful with your time on the water!
