Giants of Lake George

A client with a giant. Successfully released to be enjoyed again.

We have had a banner lake trout summer so far! All of our fish come casting - and we have learned a ton the first month or so of the summer. Fished lots of new (secret) baits…you have to comment or book a trip to learn more about what we are doing.

Some people have down played the fight of a lake trout, but caught on light tackle they are an absolute blast! We have been putting the smack down on them with Douglas Outdoors Spinning Rod line up. Our favorities being the XMatrix DXS 6103XF, XMatrix DXS 724XF, and the XMatrix DXS 763XF. These rods provide incredible feel, great hook setting power, and enough softness to hold the giant head shakes of a laker.

The other key to our learning and early summer success is Garmin Livescope. I upgraded my LVS32 to the LVS34 and I’m seeing crazy stuff. Some of what i’m watching is fish and how they are interacting with my bait and I’m seeing structure and how the fish are using it to hunt.
