Lake George 2025 Lake Trout: Best Year Ever?
We try and catch and release as many lake trout as possible on Lake George. Giants like this one are special fish and need to be handled carefully and released quickly.
We lit up Lakers on Lake George in 2024. We learned so much - new structures, new baits, giant fish. I plan to do a number of blogs and highlight videos showcasing our success on the Queen of American lakes. This blog is dedicated to highlighting the top five plastics that we used last year. Many of these are top secret baits and may even shock you…
So here they are…the top 3 types of plastics for Lakers for 2025:
Smaller baits in general. Most of my favorite plastics are 3” in size. Most of the bait that I see Lakers spitting up is smaller in nature.
Scent. Use baits that have scent built into them.
Natural colors. I do much better on baits that imitate native species in Lake George: smelt, yellow perch, sculpin.
I love teaching people how to fish and what we do to entice giants into biting. We see so much on the Livescope and I can’t wait to share more of that with you in coming weeks! Send me a comment and I’ll hook you up with more details!
