November 3 and 5 Coldwater Lake

We needed to take the boat in to have some things looked at so we decided to do it and fish Coldwater Lake at the same time.

Water temps were in the 51 degree range.  We only had trolling motor range so we launched right at Lake Drive Marine and fished the bay right there.  The fishing was a lot of fun.  Monday, November 3 we ended up catching 5 largemouth, 5 northerns, a couple crappies and a perch all on jerkbaits.

We had such a good time that we went back down on November 5 and had a beautiful late afternoon of fishing.  We caught somewhere between 8-10 crappies (10-12" beauties) and 5 northerns.  All fish, except for one pike, were caught on jerkbaits.  The hot bait was an x-rap - white was the best color, although the perch pattern caught crappies and northerns as well.
