Catching up on reports: Houghton Lake 5/27-28

Fished with Pat and Art, my 85 year old friends.  These guys are really amazing - this was probably my favorite trip with them.  We fished almost all new areas on Houghton Lake.  Wind day 1 forced us to focus on west and south shores.  Found good fish in a number of new spots.  Only ended up with 4 legal walleyes, but caught some nice smallmouth and largemouth bass, and panfish.  Art caught his person best for largemouth at around 3 lbs and Pat got a really nice eye.  Fished some leeches on slip bobbers and plastics.

Day 2 was flat calm and 80+ degrees.  We baked on the water - ended up with a bunch of crappies, largemouth, and a couple walleyes.  Fished the crappies most of the day.  Guys did great.
