Amazing Customer Experience with St. Croix Rods

The St. Croix Avid Inshore 7’6” MH in action.

Our saltwater fishing experience in south Florida was incredible. We fished daily for all kinds of different fish. We caught trout, snook, reds, grouper, snapper, cobia, tripletail, shark, rays. We also got destroyed by giant fish that we never saw. We put these St. Croix Avid Inshore Rods to the test and they did amazing.

We only had one mishap and we’re not really sure what happened. After hooking two giant snook and a massive leopard ray, we decided to run off shore and fish grouper and snapper. Micah, my son, was flipping a 10” lane snapper in the boat, when the tip of his 7’6”MH snapped. We were both dumbstruck. That rod had fought lots of fish that put it through so much more stress than a soft flip of a snapper.

We kind of just shook our heads and moved on. I knew St. Croix had a great warranty, but I figured it was going to be a painful process that cost me something.

So I filled out their on-line warranty process (which was amazing) and a short while later I got a call from an extremely gracious man from customer service and he told me that he was going to ship me a new rod AND they were going to cover the return shipping!!!

I was blown away (and still in shock). The new rod showed up and I didn’t pay anything. Usually rod companies require you to send the broken rod back (which has cost me up to $50) and they typically have a replacement fee as well. Not with St. Croix. You better believe that this story is going to be retold many times on my boat as a fishing guide. Great to know and work with companies like St. Croix.
